Dating Tips need help?

I am a male who just graduated from HS and am asking out one of my best friends who is a senor in HS. we have known each other since around 2-3 grade and went to different HS. also we are (were) in different social groups. she is a prep ( abercrombie, brand name) and i was not in any group that i know. i just drifted through HS with friends here and there. I'm ';somewhat'; confident she will say yes. what i need is tips for first dating Do's and dont's for people who are already good friends. as well as any advise on asking her out. the biggest problem is if she says no i still hang with her all the time. and i HATE awkward situations.

first date do's and don'ts. If you got the first date. She obviously likes you. So just don't do anything to screw it up. Women also like originality. Dinner and a movie....a little lame. Come up with someone you know you two would enjoy. If you guys have know each other that long!! surely you should be able to figure something out fun and not awkward to go do. Picnic, go to a lake or beach, an amusement park if you can afford it, show her you put some effort into the date!
